Management

In virtually every organisation whether it be a restaurant, care home, engineering company or charitable trust there is a need for management – of resources, of people and of buildings.  Unlike many careers people often fall into management roles because they have progressed in their career perhaps from a technician to leading a team and suddenly they are faced with the prospect of managing a large department.  They will often be highly skilled people but do not necessarily have the skills to manage that are so important to the success of any organisation.

These people often 10-15 years into their working life need to develop a new set of skills to be able to cope with the demands of a management role.  As a consequence there are a vast number of courses and qualifications available to support them – from one day workshops through to full-time MBA programmes.

Most programmes offer part-time and flexible learning options since by definition many of the people interested in studying management will already have demanding full-time jobs.
