What are Vocational Qualifications?
Vocational qualifications:
1. exist at all levels from foundation level up to professional qualifications including higher education
2. focus on practical, work-related skills and knowledge
3. usually include relevant work experience
4. are offered by schools, further education colleges, specialised training providers, professional bodies, universities and higher education colleges
5. can be studied in a way that suits you whether it is full-time, part-time, as a stand alone course or as part of your work
6. can be ‘mixed and matched’, combined with GCSE and A level courses and used to gain entry to vocational and academic higher education courses
