Progression Toolkit
The Progression Toolkit provides resources for use by training provider stafff to advise apprentices on progression opportunities in Cornwall and Devon.

As a Training Provider there are a whole range of reasons why we would encourage you to promote progression to higher education for your Advanced Apprentices. There are sound business reasons why this should be considered as an important part of the briefing Advanced Apprentices receive as they complete their programmes:
- it raises the profile of work-based learning as a route into higher education. This could in the future result in a higher calibre of learner enrolling on apprenticeship programmes
- it builds on the opportunities being offered through Youth Apprentice programmes which are identifying high fliers and exposing them to work based learning from the age of 14
- with the introduction of Vocational Diplomas over the next few years a greater range of young people will be encouraged to consider vocational routes
- it helps those in work to see the opportunities for progression within the South West helping to stem the flow of highly qualified people out of the region, thereby boosting the local economy
- progression is an important element of the ALI inspection and training providers will benefit from having an established procedure for ensuring leavers are adequately informed about their further study options.
Your feedback is invaluable to us. Please help us to improve our resources filling in a short evaluation form. Download Toolkit evaluation form (MSWord 65KB)
