Progression

All vocational qualifications enable students to progress through the various levels of qualifications.

In many cases it is possible to progress through these routes by combining work and study.

Part-time and flexible learning e.g. via the internet or distance learning are becoming increasingly available as colleges recognise that, for many people who are already in work, the full-time study route is not an option.

With the use of the internet and e-mail it is quite possible to keep in close touch with course tutors, getting advice and support when it is needed as well as keeping in touch with other students following the course.

More information on progression routes in a large range of different types of employment from Animal Care to Manufacturing and Transportation.

You may also wish to visit the relevant Sector Skills Council for your specific sector as they hold a range of information about education and training relevant to your area of work.  Details of the 25 Sector Skills Council outlining their remits can be found at www.ssda.org together with links to the individual Sector Skills Councils.
